If you like the idea, if you share the inspiration of the project and if you want to get lighter, even only a little bit, give your letters to Ermes.
SENDER: Find a pseudonym to sign the message. If you want to keep your name, you’re free to do it. But Ermes will not publish “anonymous” letters!
RECIPIENT: You choose the recipient, it can be real, fictitious, or half-real. Your sister, your grandfather, the girlfriend at primaryschool, the teacher that didn’t believe in you, the person who broke your heart, you in ten years or ten years ago, your husband, your late dog, a friend who disappeared, your favorite singer or writer. More than the identity of the recipient, what is important is the unexpressed matter “between you.”
LANGUAGE: The project would be multi-lingual (it’s a challenge, at least we’ll try). Feel free to write in your mother language. If it’s Italian, English or Portuguese, there is no problem because I know these languages. If it’s Spanish, French or German, Ermes can ask someone to be his personal translator. If it’s a different language, then you must add the English translation of your message. The idea of Hermes is to publish at least in two languages, focusing on English – as transversal language, and Italian – as affective one (for the blog creator).
LENGTH: indicatively no more than 1800 characters, which is around 20-25 lines. If you can’t do it … just divide the letter into two parts.

n.b.
• Don’t worry if you’re not a born writer, this shouldn’t stop you from express yourself .. even the real writers weren’t born writers! Hermes seeks, first of all, letters from people. Try to write down what you really feel, details can be invented, but use a simple and incisive language. Avoid roundabouts ways. Then Hermes will provide some editing, if necessary.
• The aim of the project is not that the messages arrive to the recipient (in some cases I suppose it would be very unlikely), the letters are “never delivered” and because of their nature they are not going anywhere, except in this blog. The important thing is that they’ll take shape and come out from the sender, who, with a little blind faith, rely on Hermes … our divine intermediary.
Ermes apologizes, here and forever, for his poor English. Corrections are welcome!
